Mesquite is “the devil with roots. It scabs my cows, spooks my horses, and gives little shade.” - W.T. Waggoner, pioneer Texas rancher
Today’s ranchers are still waging the long-running “Great Mesquite Wars” using a formidable array of weapons: diesel oil, bulldozers dragging heavy chains, chemical sprays, prescribed burns and root plowing. Some win occasional costly battles. Overall, though, the mesquite is still winning the war.
Over the years many South Texas ranch owners have paid us to clear the mesquite, prickly pear and brush from their land. Depending on the terrain and density, mesquite and brush clearing can cost a land owner anywhere from $200 to $500 per acre.
We have recently begun to explore the biomass wood chip industry. There is a demand and buyers for mesquite wood chips. If you have heavy mesquite, we will harvest it to sell as wood chips. In return, land owners get their property cleared at no charge. We will leave your land in better condition than we found it and the clearing of mesquite will improve property value. No debris is left behind.
Needless to say, we have had an overwhelmingly positive response from our clients.
If you have thick mesquite, please give us a call. We are more than happy to take a look at your place to determine the feasibility of mesquite and brush harvesting for wood chips.
HOW?
We will cut and pile your mesquite, prickly pear and brush, then chip it into a truck and haul the wood chips out of your property. Our methods are NOT intrusive or damaging to land. Property is left clean and ready for grass. We will NOT leave debris behind that requires further clean up.
